Hey awesome people!

Ever since I was a teen growing up I would always like to take care of my skin, to try new products and use natural face masks. Yes, I used to make my own face mask with ingredients that I had at home. I notice as I grew up that making your skin look healthy can be hard and tough sometimes.

With lots of trials and error, today I found what works for me and here are some of my skincare routine and some tips that also helps maintaining a good and healthy skin.

1 - My very first tip is all natural and logical, drink tons of water and eat right!

By far this is the best tip on the list, we spend a lot of money and time trying to find the perfect skincare product, but honestly, how much do you think about of what you are eating and how well are you hydrated?

Your diet doesn’t just keep your body slim and healthy, when you eat fruits and vegetables they contain a lot of antioxidants and that makes your skin looks clear and healthy.

Get rid of sugary foods and lower, or cut off, your dairy intake. Sugar leads to damaged collagen and elastin, which cause wrinkles. There is also a very strong correlation between consuming dairy products and acne, skin breakouts and aging.

Drink water, preferably with a pH between 6-8.5, it hydrates your body and consequently your skin, they also flushes impurities and toxins out of your system keeping your face fresh and clean and thus helps in reducing the breakouts and acne.

2 - Secondly is what most of us know we have to do but don't, exercise! Exercise is really important for basically everything but that also includes our skin! Working out can help you stabilize your hormones and also get rid of inflammations on your body. By increasing blood flow, exercise helps nourish skin cells and can also helps carry away waste products (for example free radicals). Exercise also helps you with stress, which is a big factor when it comes to breaking out.

3 - This is an easy one, make sure to always wash your face before you go to bed at night! This way, while you sleep, your skin can repair itself and hydrate. It's a no no to sleep with makeup on because it can actually stretch the pores and make it look bigger, your skin will get dry and it will result in heinous breakouts and get your skin irritated. Give your skin a time to breath!

4 - Limit your sun exposure and always always (yes always always) use sunscreen. Small amount of daily sun produces vitamin D and it extremely good for you, but too much sun will damage your skin. Don’t forget to use everyday sunscreen even if is not too sunny outside. Better to be safe than sorry!

5 - I know I said I used to make my own face masks but yes, I still do them. My top favorites natural face masks are:

- The banana oatmeal facial masks: who needs botox when you have bananas and oatmeal? this mask moisturize your skin and leaves it looking and feeling softer. All you need is mash up a banana into a smooth paste, combine with oatmeal and apply it on your face.

- Avocado, cocoa and honey: Avocado is extremely hydrating, cocoa is an excellent antioxidant, and honey is anti-inflammatory. Just mash everything together and apply it on your face.

*use the quantity of your choice*

6 - Lastly, you don’t need a bunch of different skincare products! Stick with the necessary and that’s it.

For me I love the skin products by SkinCeuticals. They’re a little more expensive than the ones you find at the pharmacy, but it’s worthy it. Other than being a great skincare product they last long, so at the end it’s not expensive at all.

My favorite ones are the moisturize called ‘HYDRATING B5 GEL’, they sell for about $80 dollars, and the cleanse called ‘LHA CLEANSING GEL’, which goes for about $40 dollars. You can find both of these products on their website

The moisturize is a serum, and right after I use it I feel that my skin is soft, restored, and it gives this natural glow. The cleansing is a exfoliating gel that decongests pores, smoothes skin texture and brightens. You cannot go wrong with them!

Well, this is it, I hope these tips were helpful for you.

Let me know if you decide to use these tips in you skincare routine and if you liked them!
